Personally, #IAmStillAnArtist means resilience and persistence. Though the pandemic has put many opportunities on hold, I found that the isolation was beneficial toward refining my artwork and developing new ideas. Despite the opportunities I’ve recently been given, my mental, physical, and emotional health have been struggling due to the pressures of making a living as an artist. The current work that I have been creating is tactile focused - not quite user-friendly in the middle of a pandemic. However, my hope is that the artwork I’ve created in these times may encourage more of a respect or awareness for not only inclusivity in visual art, but also the necessities of accessibility in general.
